For many years I have looked after all of my family and extended family's final resting places going back several generations. They are buried in several beautiful cemeteries here in Lewis and Clark County. My heart always becomes heavy when I see someone's final resting place in disarray. Overgrown, matted grass, invading weeds, or when the headstones and markers are covered by debris, or hidden by dried mud, where the names cannot even be read because of mineral deposits and organic growth. This has moved me to take care of a few extra places in each of the cemeteries I visit. In my conversations with others who are visiting the resting places of family and friends, I have found that a large number of uncared graves are simply that family and friends are no longer in a position to do so. Mostly due to distance, time and physical restraints. This has given the rise to "Solemn Vigil", a memorial, headstone, grave marker site cleaning and maintenance.
We specialize in cleaning headstone and brass grave markers. Many if not most of those involved in cleaning head stones use a diluted solution to full strength muriatic acid. This will kill most vegetation it comes in contact with and will cause scoring to occur to concrete. We do not. We use environmentally safe methods that will not cause damage to vegetation or surrounding materials.
